Of Summer Vacation and Separation Anxiety

This will always be a good reminder.

As summer vacation is about to end, I look back on the past months when all three kids are home with me. They are 11, 7, and 2. I had to take them on by myself for a couple of weeks and there were screaming, hitting, arguing, and crying. But between those bouts of misunderstanding, there were giggling, laughing, hugging, kissing, and sleeping side by side at naptime. I will miss this. I will miss that they are 11, 7, and 2 because while they have big age gaps, they are still kids who want to tag along when mommy goes out of the house and who occasionally request for mommy to bathe them when bathing seems such a chore.

Next year, Kenzo is almost a teenager and things may be different around the house. I want to freeze this moment right here and put it on repeat. Because although I almost lost my sanity in the two months they’re all here, my heart is full of love and gratitude for the gift of family.
